He was a representative at the 9th National Congress of China Association for Science and Technology, and an executive member of the 17th Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences, serving as Chairman of its Anthropology Branch. He is also the member of Federative International Programme for Anatomical Terminology (FIPAT), director of the Key Laboratory of Human Ethnic Specificity and Phenomics of Critical Illness of Liaoning Province. He is mainly engaged in physical anthropology and human craniofacial phenotype research.
