Kun Xiong, MD, Ph.D., Professor (PhD. Student Director)
Prof. Kun Xiong is the Chairman of Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology at School of Basic Medical Science, Central South University, and the Vice Chairman of Hunan Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology. His research interests are the regulatory mechanisms of neuronal death. Prof. Kun Xiong earned his Bachelor of Medicine (Clinical Medicine) and Ph.D. in Human Anatomy at Central South University. He was a visiting scholar to the Department of Anatomy at School of Medicine, Southern Illinois University, US. Notably, Prof. Kun Xiong’s H-index is 28 in researchgate (up to now), and his research has been funded by more than 10 foundations, including 6 National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has authored 100+ manuscripts (including 6 ESI high cited papers). He also has served as a reviewer for multiple international journals and as an editorial member for several journals (World Journal of Stem Cells, Current Medical Science and Neural Regeneration Research, etc.) or guest editor (CNS & Neurological Disorders - Drug Targets, J Vis Exp, Front Cell Dev Biol, J Integr Neurosci and Front Immunol, etc.).
