Brief Introduction:
Dr. Zhou obtained his Bachelor degree in Clinical Medicine from Hengyang Medical College in 1984, Master and Ph.D. degrees in Histology and Embryology from Shanghai Medical University in 1989 and 1993, respectively. He was a postdoctoral visiting scholar in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at the University of Tennessee in USA from 1997 to 2019. Dr. Zhou was promoted to professor at Fudan University in 2000 and served as the head of the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology from 2002 to 2019. His main research interest is the development and regeneration mechanism of the retina. Dr. Zhou is currently the Head of the Working Committee of Anatomy History and the Vice Head of the Branch of Histology and Embryology of Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences. He was the Vice President of Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences and the President of Shanghai Society for Anatomical Sciences. Dr. Zhou is the Shanghai Shuguang Scholar and has won the Baosteel Excellent Teacher Award and other awards.
