Jie Lu received his bachelor’s degree in medicine (1994) from China Medical University and his Ph.D. in neurobiology (2004) from the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry/University of Minho, after which he worked as a postdoc and then as an instructor at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center until 2015. He is currently the Professor and Director of the Department of Human Anatomy at China Medical University. Professor Lu's research interests mainly include cortical development in Down syndrome. His research has been supported by grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in Progress in Neurobiology, Human Molecular Genetics, Molecular Psychiatry, Development, Journal of Comparative Neurology, Neuroscience, and so forth.
