Zhang Jingbo, graduated form Shanghai First Medical College 1961, and received a doctorate from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences(CAMS) in 1965. As a visiting scholar studied cancer biology in the Imperial Cancer Research Fund(England) and British Columbia Cancer Research Center(Canada) in 1974 and 1989 respectively.Since than on engaged in cell biology research and teaching in CAMS and published 《Tissue and Cell Culture Techniques》(1-3 edition), he translated《Culture of Animal Cell: A Manual of Basic Technique and Specialized Applications》(4-7 edition) from English to Chinese, published《Selective Cylotoxicity for Transformed 3T3 cells》, Nature. Up to now, he is the editor in chief of《Acta Anatomica Sinica》(8-14 edition). He received the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Progress Award for “the establishment of esophageal cancer cell line ECA109 and the applications in cancer researeh” and the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress for publishing “Hundred Thousand whys of National Health” (with co-authors).
