Dr. Lan Xiao graduated from the Third Military Medical University and received her MD.degree in 1990, and PhD.degree in 2000. Then she did research as a post-doctor in Canada from 2003 to 2006. Her research mainly focuses on myelination related mechanisms for brain development and disease. At present, she serves as the vice president of the Chinese Anatomical Society, the vice chairman of the Histology and Embryology branch, the vice chairman of the glia branch, Chinese Neuroscience Society, and the president of the Chongqing Anatomical Society. She is also deputy editor chief for Chinese Journal of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry, and editorial board member of GLIA and other journals. Dr. Xiao has won numbers of national and provincial education and research awards.
