Xiang Zeng, MD, PhD, Research Professor, Director of National Institute for Stem Cell Clinical Research, and PI of the Lab of Stem Cell Biology and Innovative Research of Chinese Medicine, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.
In 2011, he graduated from the Key Laboratory of Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering of the Ministry of Education, Sun Yat-sen University with a doctorate degree in medicine. From 2012 to 2016, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Neurosurgery, Harvard Medical School. 2016-2021 Research Professor of Department of Histology and Embryology, Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University. He is a member of several academic committees, including the Youth Committee of the Chinese Anatomical Society. He is a scientific review of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Medical Research Council of UKRI, and consulting expert of the Science and Technology Departments of 4 Provinces. He is an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnolog and a reviewer of more than 30 international journals such as Advanced Functional Materials. He is mainly engaged in the basic research of stem cell and tissue engineering technology in the treatment of central nervous system injury, and the registered national clinical stem cell research. He has published more than 50 scientific papers. His research received the Mayfield Award of AANS/CNS, the second prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award, the third prize of Science and Technology Award of China Association of Chinese Medicine, and the first prize of Guangdong Medical Science and Technology Award.
